Why install an exhaust tip?
Exhaust tips are purely cosmetic, though some designs do feature resonators which can soften the exhaust sound. Exhaust tips will give your car a finished look and can compliment the total appearance of the vehicle. For a minimal investment they can increase the value of the vehicle.
What about sound?
Some of our tips feature resonators that can help reduce droning, and some exhaust tips will deepen the exhaust tone. However, it is the muffler's job to reduce sound levels. Even our resonated tips will not alter the sound dramatically, but will rather compliment whatever system you already have.
Will this tip turn gold or change color?
Many exhaust tips will change color when they are exposed to extreme exhaust heat. This is especially common on trucks and SUVs, as well as high performance cars. Many of our tips feature resonated or double wall designs, which does address this issue by protecting the outer wall from direct exposure to the exhaust heat. We also use thicker materials than many other companies. Our exhaust tips are guaranteed against discoloration when used under normal circumstances.
What about quality?
Bear River Converters is committed to only the highest quality. These tips are made from high quality chrome plated mild steel. This makes them extremely resilient to corrosion, and ensures that they will look great for years to come. We use heavy gauge materials to make our products as durable as possible, unlike the thin and brittle materials used by competitors.
We back our product with a one year warranty.
Can this tip be clamped or does it need to be welded?
Our tips are designed to be installed by professionals. Automotive professionals will typically install the tips by welding them in place. Most of our tips can be clamped but welding is highly recommended.
