Catalytic Converter Warranty Claim Instructions

Step 1: Make a copy of the original invoice from Bear River Converters.

Step 2: Make copies of the paperwork from your mechanic at the time that the converter was installed, detailing the work that was done, the mileage of the vehicle, and maintenance/tune-up records showing that the issue which caused your original converter failure was properly diagnosed and repaired.

(CATALYTIC CONVERTERS DO NOT FAIL DUE TO ‘OLD AGE’. A FAILURE IS A RESULT OF A PROBLEM UPSTREAM THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER.)

Step 3: Does your invoice instruct you to comply with TSB or Tech Notes? These are special instructions for your specific vehicle that must be followed before installing your new catalytic converter. These instructions were provided to you at the time of purchase via email and/or stapled to your invoice. If these instructions were not followed and/or you cannot provide paperwork proving that these instructions were followed, your warranty is automatically void. If you can provide paperwork, make copies of the paperwork.

Step 4: Make copies of paperwork from your mechanic showing that the converter has failed, the mileage at the time of failure, and any maintenance/tune-up work that has been performed since installation of the converter.

Step 5: Email, fax, or make additional copies of all paperwork to physically mail, to Bear River Converters.

Step 6: (Optional) Please follow up with a phone call approximately 12-24 hours after sending in your paperwork to discuss the details of your catalytic converter failure, and to ensure that your paperwork was received.

After Steps 1-5 are followed, Bear River Converters will contact the manufacturer of the failed unit to request an RGA # (Return Goods Authorization Number). Once Bear River Converters receives the RGA #, you will be contacted via email with further return instructions.

Please note: The warranty included with the converter is a limited manufacturer warranty. Bear River Converters is not the manufacturer and does not make the decision on your warranty claim.

Step 7: Follow the return instructions to send the failed converter and copies of all paperwork back to the manufacturer for further evaluation. Please package items securely. Once your item has shipped, please provide us with tracking information.

Please allow 2-4 weeks from the time that your item is returned to the manufacturer, for a decision on your warranty claim. While you await a decision on your warranty claim, we recommend the purchase of a new replacement converter.

In the event that your warranty claim is honored, you will receive either a refund of your purchase price or a new replacement unit. Please inform us which option you prefer. (Shipping and handling is not covered by warranty.)

In the event that your warranty claim is denied, you will receive an email or fax with information regarding the decision. No credits will be exchanged.

Bear River Converters does not cover shipping for warranty items; these items must be returned at your own expense. Do not return items to our location, please contact us for return shipping instructions.

Bear River Converters, and the manufacturer of the items that Bear River Converters provides, reserves the right to deny any warranty claim, for any reason, at any time.

Bear River Converters is not liable for any damages that may occur to any person, vehicle, or property as a result of a failed catalytic converter.
