Ask a Question
  • I have a 2009 acadia awd california emissions label under hood. called the dealer and rpo code is for california emissions. I live in albuquerque nm. and the vehicle is registered in albuquerque nm. will this keep my cel catalyst inefficiency bank 1 code off? I am master ase certified and understand how to check inlet and outlet temps. also know that california uses higher concentrations of precious metals in their cats. I will be changing the 02 sensors prior to installing my defective cat and spark plugs. no misfires on this engine just monolyth broken down. I need to be rest assured that i don't get a recheck because customer satisfaction at stake. Will this Catalytic converter keep the CEL light from coming on. Your response will be appreciated. Thank you.

    Thanks for reaching out!
Most vehicles nowadays do have California Emissions, so aftermarket converters are already intended to handle the California requirements.
If they were to want to sell to CA state however, they would have to go through the certification process, which is expensive and why most states dont require it.

To answer your question though, yes these cats are intended to handle California Emissions for vehicles registered outside of California state.

That said, if you'd like to be absolutely certain to have no issues, we can always quote you on a CARB certified option, but be prepared to pay triple due to the certification process expenses.

Let me know if you have any additional questions or need any clarification.
