ROL218OD225ID 548521 2 1/8” OD to 2 1/4” ID Universal Exhaust Component to Pipe Adapter Reducer
Dimensions
Small Diameter: 2.125” OD (Fits inside 2 1/8” ID Component)
Large Diameter: 2.25“ ID (Fits over 2 1/4” OD Pipe)
Length May Vary: Approx. 3 7/8”
Metal Thickness May Vary: Approx. 1/16”
Material: Mild Steel
Only dimensions shown in photo are machined down during manufacturing, to ensure a smooth fit.
If opposing OD/ID's are used, edges may not be smooth; therefore, fitment is not guaranteed.
Advertised OD/ID's are guaranteed. We cannot guarantee the presence of indents as shown
and/or indent/expansion points may not be centered.
Product is man-made and no two items will be exactly identical,
although, every effort is made to ensure a consistent and quality product.
Pipe to Component (Use when your pipe is smaller than your component)
How do I determine which adapter or coupling?
Adapters are used when matching pipes of various sizes or when using larger components on factory pipes, etc. The adapters have two dimensions, a large dimension and small dimension. The two dimensions will be measured as either an inside or outside diameter (ID/OD). Some adapters are designed to adapt pipes to each other, while others adapt tips, mufflers, converters, and other component parts to a different sized pipe.
Couplings are used when matching pipes and components of the same size. Pipe to pipe couplings slide over both ends of pipe, component to component couplings slide inside both components, and pipe to component couplings slide over the pipe and inside the component.
There are four categories of Adapter/Reducers:
Pipe to Component (Use when your pipe is smaller than your component)
Component to Pipe (Use when your component is smaller than your pipe)
Pipe to Pipe (Use when one of your pipes is smaller than the other)
Component to Component (Use when one of your components is smaller than the other)
and three categories of Coupling/Connectors:
Pipe to Pipe (Use when both of your pipes are the same size)
Component to Component (Use when both of your components are the same size)
Pipe to Component (Use when your pipe would slide into your component, but is not long enough to reach)
Typically, pipes are measured by their outside diameter (OD), so you would want to select an adapter or coupling that has an inside diameter (ID) matching the OD of your pipe.
On the other hand, components are generally measured by their ID, so you would want to select an adapter or coupling that has an OD matching the ID of your component.
Anatomy of an adapter or coupling
Our adapters and couplings are fairly simple units. They consist of a piece of pipe that either slips into a component or over a pipe on one end, and into a component or over a pipe on the other. They can then be welded or clamped.
Warranty
We are so confident in the quality of our adapters, that we offer a guarantee that our adapters will not fail do to corrosion, cracking, or splitting for 5 years/50,000 miles, whichever happens first. This warranty does not cover damage that may be the result of improper use, including, but not limited to: road damage, overheating, missing hangers, broken motor mounts, etc. If for any reason our adapter fails under normal use, we will replace it free of charge. Your original invoice and picture of the failed adapter while still installed will be required for warranty. Our warranty does not cover labor costs or other installation costs. It also does not cover any incidental or consequential damages.
